EYE OF THE PEACOCK

Allian Pens' next Maki-e Limited Edition is 'Eye of the Peacock.'  This edition is limited to only 20 fountain pens, each one being hand painted, signed and numbered by Maki-e Master Katsunobu Nishihara.  Again they have used a bandless oversized black Stipula Etruia, which allows the artwork to flow without a break from the cap to the barrel.  When Allen designed this pen, he was very concerned about even balance as well as the flow of the design, so he has the peacock's tail wrapping around the barrel.  This was no easy task for Master Nishihara, but was beautifully accomplished.  The Eye of the Peacock refers to the design of the tail feathers and each eye is accenturated with a tiny piece of hand-cut genuine iridescent abalone shell.  Delivery of this edition will be about October 10, 2007
